To tie in for International Women’s Day 2024, we are seeking female artists to take part in an
exciting and challenging exhibition. We at Gallery 57, in Newport, have teamed up with ‘This
Ends Now’ to challenge the all-too-often lazy narrative which is used around allegations of rape
and sexual assault against women.
‘The language we use makes a massive difference to the way we think. Words Matter is a policy we have created to change the language used by the UK police and media when handling and reporting sexual offences. Once this policy is implemented nationwide, it will help change public opinion and behaviour through ending victim blaming and misogyny.’
Please use this link to find out more about the ‘Words Matter’ campaign. We have taken the
campaign as the theme for our exhibition.
