Meet | Inspire | Grow
Bristol Creatives is a not-for-profit, artist-led networking and marketing initiative for visual and applied artists in the city.
What do we do?
We provide a central online information hub for anyone interested in the arts and creativity in the city. We also help our members and Bristol’s wider visual and applied arts community to network, develop and grow. We do this through:
• this website, where Gold Members can promote themselves, their services and activities;
• our FREE monthly eBulletins, which are full of the latest News & Opportunities, Jobs and What’s on;
• access to new markets through our online Creative Directory.

Who, When, Why?
Sally Reay is the founder and manager of Bristol Creatives. She is a self-employed artist/designer maker and a freelancer. She graduated from Canterbury College of Art with a degree in graphic design and went on to work as a public relations consultant and event coordinator for a London advertising agency before moving to the West Country to relaunch her career as an artist and designer maker in 1996. Following a move to Bristol in the early 2000s she set up and established the Phoenix52 Community Arts Project and the Easton Arts Trail, and was a founding member of Mivart Artists. Sally is currently freelance Finance & Operations Manager at Puppet Place and a Director at In Bristol Studios.
When Sally moved to Bristol in 2002, setting up her jewellery design business in Mivart Street Studios, she found it difficult navigating all the different support organisations, studio groups and creative opportunities in the city. With the support of a local enterprise development agency she successfully applied to the Arts Council for funding for a pilot project to provide an online hub for Bristol’s creative community and an early version of Bristol Creatives was developed and trialled. A second round of funding saw Bristol Creatives transition into a sustainable business model funded solely by a paid Membership scheme and Sponsorship. The network currently consists of over 3,000 subscribers to our monthly eBulletins, around 150 paid members and eight sponsors.
