A one-day seminar and intensive workshop to provide specialist knowledge on aspects of income from within the music industry, and on accessing income from outside the industry, for established professional and semi-professional musicians, sole-proprietors and SME's working in music.
Select specialist speakers both from the board of the BMF, and specifically invited by BMF Directors, will focus on the valuing and pricing of work within the market place, advanced aspects of managing finances for long-term sustainability, and sources of external funding and investment. Effective partnership building locally, regionally and nationally will also be examined.
The day will begin with a seminar style presentation on the work of each individual speaker, plus a general discussion between speakers on current issues facing finance in the music industry.
Break-out groups will then focus on each specific area with the committed aim of helping each attendee to assess and re-evaluate their own existing career situation and attain clear skills and knowledge to progress their career further over the long-term.
Topics will include;
* Areas of income within the music industry; royalties, performance fees, synchronisation, branding and other
* Digital; income within the online market place
* Managing accounts; effective use of income to maintain, and sustain, a long-term career
* Investment; specialist investment brokers and local and national venture capitalists to focus on approaches to investment and developing effective relationships with investors and financial mentors
* Collaboration; building local and national partnerships, sharing costs, co-promotion and other
