Creative entrepreneurs are invited to apply for NESTA’s Insight Out programme running in the South West this Autumn. The deadline for applications is 19th October.

The Insight Out programme is not like any business training that you may have experienced before. It’s really more of an experience that can lead to insightful revelations about you and your business idea. As you learn and work with other creative businesses an informal support structure is created so that you don’t feel alone.

About Insight Out

Insight Out is a national enterprise training programme specifically designed for creative individuals who want to set up a business within the creative industries. A NESTA trainer works with your creative skills and teaches you to develop and apply them to your business idea. It is open to anyone who is resident in and planning to set up or kick start a recently started business in the South West. The programme is supported by NESTA and the South West Regional Development Agency and delivered through two centres across the region: Spike Island in Bristol and Creative Skills, Cornwall

All business ideas based within the creative industries will be considered and it is important to note that a drive to succeed and a willingness to accept good advice are important attributes that applicants will need.

There will be up to 10 spaces available in Cornwall and 10 for the rest of the South West and along with invaluable business training, each centre will offer candidates the chance to pitch for a share of a £15,000 funding pot.

Who should apply?

Insight Out is looking for creative entrepreneurs who have a strong business idea which they are willing to explore and further develop to realise the commercial value.

All applicants must reside and be planning to set up their business in the South West region.

All overseas applicants must be able to provide a valid visa with their application, or be in the process of, and be able to fund the application for a work visa.

Applicants must demonstrate a high level of ability to create, innovate and build
something of value from their business idea.

All applicants must have completed full time studies and if already in business should have been trading for less than 2 years.

Insight Out is open to all creative businesses and operates an equal opportunities policy.
