Second Look have managed to get their hands on some pretty tasty photographic prizes for their upcoming competition. Lisa Furness (Second Look coordinator) explains what they've got planned.

'The competition opens on July 21st, anyone can enter, but please remember it's one picture per person so make sure you've chosen your best picture. The theme is Bristol, we want people to take a second look at the city & send us pictures that reveal something different, unnoticed or personal about the place'

The exhibition will open on Saturday August 2nd at Cyan Arts (St Nic's Market) and run for 4 weeks. This will show pictures from the six Second Look photographers who have also been looking again at Bristol.

'Our photos will explore Bristol's details, her nature, night scenes & interiors to name a few. Each week we will assess the competition entries & pick our top 4 pictures to join the exhibition.'

The competition closes at midday on August 23rd & the last four winning pictures will hang with the exhibition until it ends on August 30th.

From September 1st until the 14th a public vote will be held to choose the over all winner. All 16 short listed pics (4 per week for 4 weeks) will appear in Venue Magazine & will be displayed on the Second Look website.

'We may have chosen our finalists, but at the end of the day it's up to the people of Bristol to pick their winner.'

On Friday September 19th there will be an award ceremony held at Cyan Arts.

Each of the 16 finalists will be presented with a framed print of their picture from the exhibition. The winner will also receive a

£50 gift voucher from the London Camera Exchange (Baldwin Street), a £60 voucher from Snappy Snaps (Whiteladies) and a goody bag from Clifton Colour (Whiteladies).

To enter please send your photo (with your name, phone number & email) to bristolasecondlook@hotmail.co.uk or drop it round to
